David38's description
My name is David, I currently live in Denver, Colorado. I do not have too much personal contact outside of my Shotokan karate class and karate events. I really associate with a couple people outside of karate events. With my rank and position I retain a certain stoic position. It would be nice to talk to someone from my heart at times. Still, I remain a happy person and I am always looking to share thoughts and feelings with others, especially people from Japan, other parts of Asia but, I can get along well with someone from anywhere in the world. I have three university degrees: BS in European intellectual history, BS in geography, and a minor in geographical information science with some extra teaching in sociology, political science, American government, commercial art and some other interest. Knowledge is much like food to me. I love learning about others' culture and sharing with others how others see our world. I own a tourism business so I have traveled to many countries and have always made friends I still keep in contact with via e-mail. I just do not spend much time with people in my area. I am trying to learn as much as I can about other cultures and at the moment I am trying to learn about contemporary cultures in Japan and other Asian countries; I have never been to these regions. I love to teach in my education. Many people like me to share how the American political ideology works and how to make sense of such a mess our government can seem. I don't think anyone understands our system completely, certainly not many of our current public officials at this time. However, Americans take pride in our 1st amendment, freedom of speech, as long as it does not threaten anyone, promote "hate," or become harassing. I like to help people understand just as much as I like education from other people's culture. I am very easy to talked to. I would like to find someone to talk to and share information. I am very interested in learning about the Japanese people and their culture despite some university education. I feel I can learn the most from the people of the region I'm talking with. I seem to love everything Japanese including the food, history, respect, loyalty, kindness, the language, all women from Asia seem to be beautiful, educated (even without higher level education, everyone has something they can teach), and the landscape of Japan and other areas of Asia look amazing. However, I like elements of all countries. I would LOVE to visit Japan, other Asian counties, and will one of these days. Always talking to Americans get old. Because I learned Shotokan karate since I was five years old, I can speak a small amount of Japanese and I think I understand the importance of "seeking the perfection of character, faithfulness, respect, and loyalty." But, I can learn further. I respect these aspect of this culture and hope to learn more. I would love to pen pal with someone. I do not have a picture at this time but, I look like an American version of a karateka, in good shape...I think. Looks are not that important to me anyways. Be well, be happy - David G.
