- My name is Doug. I'm 28, and I work as a home inspector. I love hockey and golf. I played hockey my entire life, through the college level, and I now coach a local youth hockey team. My family heritage is mostly German, which is what originally sparked my interest in learning German. I found that I really enjoy learning languages, and have studied German, Chinese Mandarin and Russian throughout high school and college. I have an intermediate level of German language knowledge and skill. I understand the grammar quite well, but I need to learn much more vocabulary, colloquialisms and general conversational German. I am looking for someone to help me learn German by conversing with me as he/she would a native German friend. I hope to become fluent someday, and would like to reach a level which would allow me to converse rather easily when I finally get the chance to visit Germany.
